Non-restricted firearms in Canada

24,756 records in the RCMP Firearms Reference Table are classified non-restricted. Every entry links to its full record, including the FRN, action, calibres and country of origin.

Non-restricted is the broadest class in Canadian firearms law and covers most ordinary rifles and shotguns: bolt actions, lever actions, pump and semi-automatic hunting guns, and the surplus rifles that make up so much of the used market. A valid non-restricted PAL is all that is required to buy, own and transport one, and there is no registration requirement for individuals.

Classification is a property of the specific firearm, not of the type it resembles. The RCMP records it per entry in the Firearms Reference Table, keyed to a Firearm Reference Number, and the same model name can appear more than once with different classifications where variants differ. The entries below are the non-restricted records as they appear in the table.
